- 2 large ripe mangoes peeled and chopped
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 5 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey optional for extra flavor
- 2 cups ice cubes
- 8 to 10 fresh mint leaves
- 1 lemon sliced for garnish
- A pinch of black salt optional
Step 1: Prepare the Mangoes
Wash the mangoes thoroughly. Peel them carefully and cut the flesh away from the seed. Chop into chunks.
The riper the mangoes, the sweeter and smoother your drink will taste. Your kitchen will already smell amazing at this point.
Step 3: Blend the Mangoes
Add chopped mangoes to a blender with one cup of cold water. Blend until completely smooth.
If your mangoes are fibrous, you can strain the puree through a fine mesh strainer.
Step 4: Combine Everything
Pour the mango puree into a large pitcher. Add lemon juice, sugar, honey, and remaining cold water.
Stir thoroughly until the sugar dissolves completely.
Step 6: Taste and Adjust
Taste the lemonade before serving.
If it feels too sweet, add more lemon juice.
If it feels too tangy, add a little extra sugar or honey.
- Always use ripe mangoes for maximum sweetness and flavor.
- Chill the ingredients beforehand so the drink stays cold longer.
- Add sparkling water instead of regular water for a fizzy version.
- Freeze mango chunks ahead of time for a thicker frozen drink.
- A pinch of black salt adds a subtle street-style flavor.
- Do not skip fresh lemon juice because it makes a huge difference.
- Blend mint leaves directly into the drink if you want stronger mint flavor.
- Serve in clear glasses for a beautiful presentation.
